SHRI. DEEPAK NARENDRA BAGALversusTHE DISTRICT COLLECTOR, KOLHAPUR AND ORS

Disposal
Disposed Off

Holding

The court may correct purely clerical errors in its judgment by issuing a correction order.

Summary

The Bombay High Court, Kolhapur Circuit Bench, entertained a correction application filed by the respondents to amend inadvertent typographical errors in its earlier judgment dated 6 February 2026. The errors involved an incorrect reference to a revenue survey number and a misidentification of counsel in the judgment text. The court examined whether such corrections could be made under procedural law without altering the substantive decision. It held that the errors were purely clerical and could be rectified without prejudice to the parties. Accordingly, the court ordered the correction of the specified passages in the original judgment.
