SUDAM NARAYAN BURKULEE AND OTHERSversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA THR ITS SECREATARY AND OTHERS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The Court directed the Zilla Parishads to decide the petitioners' pending representations on merits within eight weeks, thereby disposing of the writ petitions.

Summary

The petitioners, a group of employees, filed writ petitions seeking the grant of a selection grade, alleging that their representations and proposals were pending with the Zilla Parishads of Nanded and Parbhani. The State of Maharashtra, represented by its Attorney General, and the respective Zilla Parishads were respondents. The Court heard arguments, including a waiver of notice for some respondents and representations by counsel for the Zilla Parishads. No specific statutory provisions or precedents were cited. The Court ordered the Zilla Parishads (respondents No.5 and 6) to decide the petitioners' pending representations on their merits, in accordance with law, within eight weeks of receiving the order. The writ petitions were consequently disposed.
