The petition was dismissed as the prosecution had already taken steps to ensure a timely trial, and no specific direction was required.
Summary
Petitioner Malikrehan Gulzar Ahmed Sounor filed a criminal writ petition seeking a writ directing the Children's Court in North Goa to take up Special Case (POCSO) No.22/2021 expeditiously. The public prosecutor informed the court that summons had been issued to witnesses CW10 and CW11, who were to appear on 8 October 2026, and that the prosecution intended to conclude the trial within six months. The court observed that, given these steps, no specific directions were necessary. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed without any order for expediting the case. The petition was therefore dismissed.
