Summary

Exercising its discretion, the Court partially allowed the application, granting parole for 21 days. The applicant must furnish a personal bond and surety of Rs. 25,000 and report daily to the concerned police station. The order expressly barred any further extension of parole or reduction of the bond amount, and the rule was made absolute.

Issues considered

  • What is the appropriate exercise of discretion by the Court in granting parole leave and setting conditions?
  • Should the applicant be required to furnish a bond and surety, and what amount is appropriate?
  • Can the Court restrict any further extension of parole or reduction of the bond?
