BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court granted regular bail to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Khakhra Yadav, was arrested in connection with offences under Sections 30(a) and 32 of the Bihar Excise Act, alleging the recovery of 275 litres of liquor from two cycles. He has nine prior cases, two of which are also under the Excise Act, but was not apprehended at the scene and no liquor was seized from his immediate possession. The petitioner contended that he was implicated solely on the basis of secret information without a proper investigation and has been in custody since 23-10-2025. He filed a regular bail application, assuring the court that he would not abscond and would cooperate with the trial. The State opposed the bail, but the court, after considering the submissions, ordered his release on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 5,000 with two sureties of the same amount. The order was pronounced by Justice Satyavrat Verma of the Patna High Court.
