The court may extend the time for furnishing bail bonds in anticipatory bail cases where unavoidable circumstances exist.

Summary

The petitioners Uday Kumar Pandey and Bipin Kumar Nirala were granted anticipatory bail on 5 December 2025. They failed to furnish the required bail bonds within the prescribed time due to unavoidable circumstances. They filed an application seeking an extension of time to submit the bail bonds. The court examined whether such an extension could be granted despite the lapse of the original deadline. Considering the petitioners' explanation, the court allowed a further two‑week extension for furnishing the bail bonds. Consequently, the earlier anticipatory bail order was modified to reflect the extended time limit.
