Holding
The court held that bail could not be granted to the petitioner.
Summary
Petitioner Raja Ram Yadav, accused of assaulting an informant with weapons, was charged under sections 126(2), 115(2), 303(2), 308(3), 352 and 3(5) of the B.N.S., 2023. He has been in custody since 10‑12‑2025 and faces multiple pending criminal cases (reported as 13, 19 or 22). The petitioner filed an application for regular bail. The court examined the seriousness of the allegations, the petitioner’s antecedents and the large number of pending cases. Considering these factors, the court was not inclined to grant bail. Consequently, the bail application was rejected.
Issues considered
- Whether the petitioner is entitled to regular bail despite the serious nature of the offences alleged against him.
- Whether the petitioner’s antecedents and the number of pending criminal cases justify denial of bail.
