Summary
The petitioner, Suman Kumar, filed a bail application before the Patna High Court in connection with a criminal case (PS Case No. 294 of 2022). In paragraph three of the application, the petitioner allegedly made an incorrect statement regarding his criminal antecedents. Upon realizing this misstatement, the petitioner, through his counsel, sought to withdraw the bail application, requesting liberty to pursue any appropriate remedy under law. The court examined the request to withdraw the application on the basis of the inaccurate statement. Finding no merit to continue the proceedings, the court disposed of the bail application. No substantive discussion on the merits of bail was undertaken, as the application was withdrawn.
