The Court granted bail to the petitioner.

Summary

Mithilesh Paswan was arrested in connection with a kidnapping case (Sakri P.S. Case No. 186 of 2025) and charged under Sections 87 and 96 of the BNS, 2023, Sections 04, 06 and 08 of the POCSO Act, and Section 09 of the Child Marriage Act. The prosecution alleged that he kidnapped the minor victim. The petitioner argued that the victim had been recovered and had voluntarily stated that she had eloped with him. After hearing counsel, the High Court considered the victim’s statement and the circumstances of the case. The Court allowed the bail application, directing the petitioner to furnish a bail bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties of the same amount, subject to the satisfaction of the Additional Sessions Judge. The petitioner was consequently released on bail.
