BAIL GRANTED

Holding

Bail is to be granted to the petitioner subject to a bond and conditions prescribed under Section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

Summary

The petitioner, Ranjeet Sah, sought bail in a criminal case (PS Case No.233 of 2025) where he was accused of assaulting an informant and the informant's family members, alleged under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. He claimed innocence, stating the dispute was old, the injuries were simple, and he had no prior criminal record. The State opposed the bail application. The Court, after considering the nature of the injuries and the circumstances, ordered that bail be granted upon surrender within six weeks, subject to a bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties and specific conditions under Section 482(2) of the BNSS. The conditions include appearance before the trial court, non‑tampering with witnesses, and refraining from further offences.

has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner.
