Patna High Court

Sachin Kumar @ LalluversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court held that bail should be granted to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Sachin Kumar, applied for regular bail in a case registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, alleging assault on the informant’s nephew. The prosecution alleged that the petitioner inflicted head injuries, while the petitioner claimed innocence, a clean antecedent, and had been in custody since 22 September 2025. The State and the informant opposed bail. The court considered the petitioner’s clean record and the length of custody, and found no compelling reason to deny bail. Consequently, the court ordered the petitioner’s release on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties of equal amount. The order was pronounced by Justice Prabhat Kumar Singh of the Patna High Court.

Issues considered
