BAIL REJECTED

Holding

The Court refused pre‑arrest bail, holding that the seriousness of the allegations and the petitioner’s four criminal antecedents preclude the grant of bail.

Summary

Anand @ Niranjan Singh, the petitioner, applied for pre‑arrest bail in a case (Ramgarh Chowk P.S. Case No. 217/2025) where he is accused of assaulting his daughter‑in‑law and her husband for solemnising a love marriage, resulting in a fractured head. The FIR charges him under Sections 115(2), 126(2), 109(1), 303(2), 351(2), 352 and 3(5) of the BNS. The petitioner is the father‑in‑law of the informant and has four prior criminal antecedents. The Court examined the seriousness of the allegations and the petitioner’s criminal history. Finding the allegations grave and the antecedents significant, the Court declined to grant pre‑arrest bail and dismissed the bail application.

2 16-04-2026 Heard Mr. Rajive Ranjan Singh, learned counsel

                   learned counsel for the informant.

                                 2. The petitioner seeks pre-arrest bail in connection

with Ramgarh Chowk P.S. Case No. 217 / 2025 registered for

the offence(s) punishable under Sections 115(2),

                                 3. As per the allegations made in the FIR, the

petitioner, who is the father-in-law of the informant, assaulted

the informant and her husband on account of their having

                                   4. Considering the nature of allegation made against

the petitioner in the FIR and the fact that the petitioner has four
