The court extended the surrender period by three weeks, thereby modifying the anticipatory bail order.

Summary

The petitioner, Pradeep Yadav, had been granted anticipatory bail on 15 October 2025 with a direction to surrender to the lower court within four weeks. He failed to surrender within the prescribed period and filed an application on 3 April 2026 seeking an extension of the surrender deadline. The court considered the submissions of the petitioner's counsel and the reasons outlined in the application. It held that the surrender period could be extended by an additional three weeks from the date the order is received. Consequently, the original anticipatory bail order was modified to allow the extended surrender period, and the modification application was allowed.
