Holding

The Court allowed the modification, extending the time for furnishing bail bonds by one week.

Summary

The petitioner, Ankit Raj Rathore, was granted anticipatory bail on 16 July 2025 in Criminal Miscellaneous No. 40450 of 2025. The bail order required the petitioner to furnish bail bonds within a stipulated period, which he could not meet due to unavoidable circumstances. The petitioner filed a modification application seeking an extension of time to furnish the bail bonds. The High Court examined whether the time limit could be relaxed without defeating the purpose of the anticipatory bail. The Court held that a reasonable extension could be granted and ordered a one‑week extension from the receipt of the order. Consequently, the original anticipatory bail order was modified to allow the additional time.
