Holding

The bail application was dismissed.

Summary

The Patna High Court considered a bail application filed by Ajay Yadav, who was arrested in connection with a case involving multiple serious offences under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. The alleged incident involved Surya Don and others discharging 40 rounds of fire at an informant's door to terrorise him, and the petitioner’s name surfaced during the investigation. The petitioner has been in custody since 21‑12‑2025 and has four serious criminal antecedents. The court examined whether bail could be granted given the gravity of the charges and the petitioner’s prior record. Concluding that the circumstances warranted denial of bail, the court dismissed the application, noting that its observations were limited to the bail issue and did not prejudice the trial.
