The court held that the modification application is disposed of by extending the surrender deadline to 19 May 2026, leaving the rest of the earlier order unchanged.

Summary

The petitioners, Ravindra Singh and his son Amulya Singh, applied to the Patna High Court seeking a further extension of time to surrender before the learned District Court and to furnish a bail bond, pursuant to an earlier order dated 23 February 2026 in Criminal Appeal (SJ) No. 4460 of 2025. The court examined the reasons set out in the petitioners’ modification application and the supporting affidavit. Finding the reasons satisfactory, the court extended the deadline for surrender to 19 May 2026. The court ordered that the modification application be disposed of, while the remainder of the earlier order dated 23 February 2026 would continue to operate. The decision was delivered by Justice Purnendu Singh, with counsel for the petitioners and the State appearing before the bench.
