Decided
Disposal
BAIL REJECTED

Holding

The Court denied regular bail to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Aman Kumar, was arrested in connection with a murder case (PS Bettiah Town Case No. 230 of 2025) where the victim, the son of an informant, died after being stabbed. The petitioner applied for regular bail, claiming innocence and alleging false implication due to prior enmity. The State and the informant opposed the bail, emphasizing the seriousness of the offences under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The Court considered the nature of the alleged crime, the fact that the petitioner was the assailant, and the gravity of the charges. It concluded that bail could not be granted in such circumstances. However, the Court directed the trial court to expedite the trial and conclude it within one year of the order.
