Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

Bail was granted to the petitioner subject to surrender within eight weeks and furnishing a bail bond with sureties under section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.

Summary

The petitioner, Rabil Sai, was arrested in connection with a case (PS Jamobazar No. 260 of 2025) alleging assault with a spade causing a simple injury, along with several other offences under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha (BNS) Act. He claimed a clean antecedent and sought bail, fearing arrest. The State opposed the bail application. The Court considered the nature and severity of the injury, the petitioner’s clean record, and other circumstances, and decided to grant bail on the condition that the petitioner surrenders within eight weeks and furnishes a bail bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties, subject to the conditions of section 482(2) of the BNS Act, 2023. The order was pronounced by Justice Prabhat Kumar Singh.
