The petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is disposed of, resulting in the quashing of the maintenance order.
Summary
The petitioners, a group of relatives, filed a petition under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code seeking to quash a June 23, 2018 order of the Sessions Judge that directed the petitioners to pay a monthly maintenance of Rs. 6,000 to Anita Kumari, the opposite party. The petition challenged the validity of the maintenance award. Both the petitioners' counsel and the Additional Public Prosecutor for the State raised no objections to the prayer for disposal. The High Court, after hearing the parties, disposed of the petition, effectively granting the relief sought. No substantive discussion on the merits of the maintenance order was recorded.
