Decided

Holding

The petition is infructuous and is disposed of as the underlying criminal case has already been concluded.

Summary

The petitioners filed a petition under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code seeking to quash FIR No. 259 of 2018 registered under Sections 498(A), 379 and 34 of the IPC. The investigating police report indicated that the case had already been disposed on 18 February 2026 by way of compromise. The petitioners argued that the petition had become infructuous and should be dismissed. The State, through its Additional Public Prosecutor, raised no objection to the petitioners' request. The Court, after considering the submissions, held that since the criminal proceeding was already concluded, the petition was infructuous and disposed of it.
