Patna High Court

Mahendra Manjhi @ Manish ManjhiversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
D.F.D. FOR NON APPEARANCE

Holding

The anticipatory bail application was dismissed due to the petitioner's non‑appearance and failure to remove the identified defects.

Summary

Mahendra Manjhi applied for anticipatory bail in a criminal miscellaneous case. The Registry had identified defects in the application and granted the petitioner two weeks to rectify them, but the defects were not remedied. No counsel appeared on behalf of the petitioner, leading the court to infer that the petitioner had lost interest in pursuing the matter. Consequently, the court dismissed the anticipatory bail application on the ground of non-prosecution. The order was pronounced by Justice Satyavrat Verma.

4 15-01-2026 None appears on behalf of the petitioner. Learned APP

                     is present.

                                   2. The learned APP submits that the case was taken up

on 12.11.2025 when two weeks’ time was granted to the

petitioner to remove the defect(s), as pointed out by the Registry

but then the defect(s), till date, has not been removed.

                     dismissed for non-prosecution.
