Anticipatory bail was not granted to the petitioners.

Summary

Prince Kumar Chaudhur and Nikhil Kumar Chaudhur, residents of Bankat village in East Champaran, were charged under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 27 of the Arms Act for alleged demand of rangdari and assaulting an informant, along with four other cases. They filed an application for anticipatory bail fearing arrest in connection with PS Kesariya Case No. 182 of 2025. The Patna High Court, after hearing counsel, considered the seriousness of the allegations and the petitioners' criminal antecedent. The Court was not inclined to grant anticipatory bail and dismissed the application. The petitioners were directed to surrender within two weeks and seek regular bail, failing which the police would proceed with their arrest.
