BAIL REJECTED

Holding

Anticipatory bail was refused.

Summary

The petitioner, Raushan Kumar Verma, was implicated in a case (No. 309 of 2025) for offences under Sections 127(1), 115(2), 132, 109, 303(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, arising from an incident where he and co‑accused allegedly stole electricity and assaulted a raiding team, causing serious injuries. The petitioner, who has two prior similar criminal antecedents, applied for anticipatory bail fearing arrest. The court examined the seriousness of the alleged offences, the violent conduct during the raid, and the petitioner’s criminal record. Considering the nature of the accusations and the antecedents, the court found that granting bail would be inappropriate. Consequently, the anticipatory bail application was rejected, and the petition was dismissed.
