BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The Court granted bail to the petitioner, finding no direct allegation against him and considering the custody already served.

Summary

The petitioner, Ranjit Yadav, was arrested in connection with a case (Hasanpur PS Case No. 19 of 2025) alleging offences under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and the Arms Act. The prosecution alleged that the accused assaulted an informant and his family with deadly weapons and fired indiscriminately. The petitioner’s counsel argued that he was falsely implicated, that the allegations were vague and no specific overt act was attributed to him, and that he has no prior criminal record. The State opposed bail, citing the seriousness of the offences. The Court, noting the lack of direct allegations against the petitioner and the period he had already spent in custody, decided to grant bail on condition of a cash bond and sureties. The order released the petitioner on bail.
