The Court inclined to grant bail to the petitioner, subject to bond and conditions.
Summary
The petitioner, Piyush Kumar, was arrested in connection with a murder case (Tarapur PS Case No. 122 of 2024) alleged under IPC Sections 304B, 201 and 34, wherein the deceased was said to have been killed by her husband and in‑laws over dowry demands. The petitioner contended that he is innocent, that the allegations are vague and omnibus, and that the deceased actually committed suicide by consuming poison. He also highlighted his lack of criminal antecedents and the length of his custody since 09‑03‑2025. The State opposed bail, arguing the seriousness of the offences. The Court, noting the absence of specific material against the petitioner and the period of custody already served, decided to grant bail subject to a bond of Rs.15,000 with two sureties and conditions of appearance.
