DISMISSED

Holding

The court held that bail could not be granted in view of the serious nature of the offences involving a minor.

Summary

Ajit Maurya was charged under Sections 96, 64, 3(5) of the BNS and Section 6 of the POCSO Act for allegedly abducting and raping a minor girl. He has been in custody since 15 August 2025. The petitioner applied for bail, arguing that he should be released pending trial. The court examined the seriousness of the allegations, especially the sexual offence against a child, and found that the nature of the crime warranted continued detention.
