BAIL GRANTED

Holding

Bail was granted to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Sanjeet Kumar, was arrested in connection with a case registered under Sections 97 and 137(2) of the BNS and Section 8 of the POCSO Act, alleged to have abducted a minor girl. He had been in custody since 18 October 2025. The petitioner’s counsel argued that the girl had voluntarily eloped with him and that the petitioner was innocent. The court examined the material on record and found no compelling reason to deny bail. Consequently, the court granted bail on the condition of a Rs 10,000 bond with two sureties of the same amount. The order was pronounced by Justice Sandeep Kumar.
