BAIL REJECTED

Holding

Pre‑arrest bail was denied.

Summary

The petitioner, Ravi Shankar Sah, applied for pre‑arrest bail in a case registered under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including assault, grievous hurt, robbery and attempt to murder. The FIR alleged that he assaulted the informant's father with an iron rod, causing serious injury. The court examined the seriousness of the allegations and the nature of the offences. Considering the gravity of the assault on a vital part of the body, the judge declined to grant pre‑arrest bail. The petitioner was directed to surrender before the District Court and seek regular bail, with the District Court instructed to decide the bail application promptly. The pre‑arrest bail application was therefore disposed of.
