Decided

DISPOSED

Holding

The writ petition is disposed of, with the petitioner directed to file a representation for any remaining grievances within four weeks.

Summary

Petitioner Prem Shankar Patel filed a civil writ petition against the State of Bihar and several officials alleging grievances. No counsel appeared on behalf of the petitioner, while the State's counsel asserted that the petitioner’s grievances had already been redressed. The court noted the absence of any representation to rebut the State’s claim. Consequently, the court directed the petitioner to file a detailed representation concerning any remaining grievances within four weeks, and to have those issues adjudicated on their merits within an additional eight weeks. The writ petition was therefore disposed of.

Issues considered

  • Whether the petitioner’s grievances have been adequately redressed by the State.
  • Whether the writ petition can be disposed of in the absence of any representation by the petitioner.

Subjects

  • civil writ jurisdiction
  • petition dismissed
  • representation
  • grievance redressal
  • absence of counsel
