Holding

The Circle Officer must forthwith measure and demarcate the land after accepting the fees, as directed by the Court.

Summary

The petitioner, Hare Krishna Pandey, filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the Circle Officer, Sonepur, to measure and demarcate his land (Khata No. 846, Khesara No. 1945) and to erect a cemented pillar after demarcation. He had earlier applied on 20‑12‑2025 for the same relief, but the application remained unprocessed. The Court examined whether the Circle Officer was obligated to carry out the measurement and demarcation under the relevant land‑reforms statutes. It held that the Circle Officer must promptly proceed with the measurement after accepting the prescribed fees. Accordingly, the petition was disposed with an order directing the Circle Officer to comply.
