Holding

The court held that the opposite parties had complied with the earlier order, so the contempt application was dismissed.

Summary

The petitioner, Gurudeo Jha, filed a contempt petition seeking a rule of contempt against several government officials for allegedly disobeying a July 25, 2024 order of the Patna High Court in CWJC No.10971, which directed the disposal of his representation within three months of receipt of the order. The court noted that a show‑cause notice had been filed and that counsel for the State submitted that the respondents had complied with the earlier order. The bench examined whether the compliance requirement was satisfied. Finding that the opposite parties had indeed complied with the court’s direction, the court held that there was no ground for contempt. Accordingly, the contempt application was disposed of.

Issues considered
