Sanjeev Kumar SinghversusThe State of Bihar

Decided

DISPOSED

Holding

The Court held that the opposite parties had complied with the order, and therefore the contempt application was dismissed.

Summary

The petition was filed by Sanjeev Kumar Singh seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against Opposite Party No. 4 for willful disobedience of an order dated 23‑09‑2024 in C.W.J.C. No. 14435/2024, later modified on 19‑03‑2025. The petitioner alleged that the opposite party failed to comply with the modified order regarding the posting location of Opposite Party 4 and the name of the father of Opposite Parties 5‑7. The State filed a show‑cause response asserting that the order had been complied with. The Court examined the show‑cause and found that the opposite parties had indeed complied with the directions. Consequently, the contempt application was disposed of. The decision underscores that compliance with a court order defeats a contempt claim.
