Holding

The contempt petition is disposed with a direction that the petitioner file an appropriate representation for the interest portion, after which the authorities must decide within eight weeks.

Summary

Ajay Kumar Singh filed a contempt petition before the Patna High Court against the State of Bihar, Veer Kunwar Singh University and related officials, alleging that while most of his grievances had been addressed, the interest component of his claim remained unpaid. The petitioner sought liberty to file an appropriate representation to compel the authorities to comply with the direction regarding the interest. The Court examined whether the pending interest could be pursued through a separate representation and whether the contempt petition could be disposed of pending that step. Finding that all other issues were resolved, the Court directed the petitioner to file a representation for the interest portion, if not already done. The Court ordered the authorities to consider the representation within eight weeks and to pass the necessary order and pay any admissible benefits within the same period.
