DISPOSED

Holding

The court held that the order under contempt had been complied with and therefore dismissed the contempt petition.

Summary

The petitioner, Tej Narayan Singh, filed a contempt petition against the State of Bihar, the District Magistrate of Gaya, and the Municipal Commissioner of Gaya Municipal Corporation, alleging non‑compliance with a prior order. The Municipal Corporation, through counsel, submitted a show‑cause response stating that the petitioner had already received his retiral benefit in accordance with law and that the order under contempt had been complied with. The court examined the statements in paragraphs 4‑8 of the show‑cause and found them satisfactory. It held that the grievance was effectively redressed and that there was no basis to continue the contempt proceeding. Consequently, the court consigned the contempt petition, indicating that the petitioner may seek any other appropriate remedy if still aggrieved.
