The Court held that the judgment of 19 September 2024 had been complied with in letter and spirit, and therefore no contempt was established.

Summary

Ansar Miyan filed a contempt application before the Patna High Court alleging that several State officials willfully disobeyed the judgment dated 19 September 2024 in Civil Writ Jurisdiction Case No. 14033 of 2024. The respondents filed a show‑cause notice, and the Circle Officer, after hearing both sides, issued a reasoned order disposing of the petitioner’s representation dated 3 October 2024. The petitioner contended that this order amounted to contempt of the earlier judgment. The Court examined the show‑cause statement and the annexed order and found that the earlier judgment had been complied with both in letter and spirit. Consequently, the Court held that no contempt had occurred. The contempt proceeding was therefore dismissed and the petition disposed.
