The application for parole leave was rejected as no case was made out for its grant.
Summary
The petitioner, Govind @ Peklo Jignesh Jayantibhai Patani, filed a special criminal application seeking parole leave. The applicant had already been released on parole by the same court for a period of 21 days from 13 January 2026 to 20 February 2026. The court examined whether there was any justification for granting additional parole leave so soon after the earlier release. Finding that the applicant had just completed a parole term and that no new circumstances warranted further leave, the court concluded that the application lacked merit. Consequently, the application for parole leave was rejected.
Issues considered
- Whether the applicant is entitled to further parole leave immediately after a recent parole release
