Holding

The court condoned the 442‑day delay and allowed the appeal to be registered.

Summary

The State of Maharashtra, represented by the Collector of Jalna, filed an application seeking condonation of a 442‑day delay in filing an appeal against a decree involving Apparao Baburao Ghaytadak. The court examined the application and the reasons provided, which were attributed to administrative causes. Finding the explanation satisfactory, the bench held that the delay could be condoned. Consequently, the application was allowed, and the appeal was ordered to be registered, subject to the removal of any pending office objections. No substantive merits of the original dispute were addressed, as the order pertained solely to procedural condonation.
