Summary
The Executive Engineer Minor Irrigation Division Latur and others filed applications seeking condonation of a 299‑day delay in filing their appeal. The Court examined the reasons, which were administrative in nature, and found them satisfactory. Consequently, the delay was condoned and the first appeals were ordered to be registered, subject to removal of any office objections. In a related stay application, the Court issued a notice to the respondents, which was waived by the respondent’s counsel, and granted an ad‑interim stay of the judgment and award. The stay was conditioned upon the applicants depositing 60% of the compensation amount along with accrued interest.
