Holding
The delay is condoned, but petitioners are not entitled to interest or statutory benefits for the delayed period.
Summary
The petitioners filed several civil applications seeking condonation of delay in filing first appeals against orders of the State of Maharashtra. The respondents opposed the condonation, but the court found no malafide intent and noted that the delay was not intentional. While the court condoned the delay, it held that the petitioners would not be entitled to any interest or statutory benefits for the period of delay. Accordingly, the applications were allowed on the condition that the petitioners forfeit such benefits. The matters will be finally decided at the admission stage on a later date.
