Enhancements of compensation up to four times the Land Acquisition Officer’s award are not subject to challenge, so the appeals are dismissed.
Summary
The appellants, Godavari Marathwada Irrigation Development Corporation Ltd, challenged a 2009 judgment that awarded compensation in land acquisition proceedings. The dispute centered on whether the reference court’s enhancement of compensation from Rs.79 to Rs.89 per square metre, which was within four times the amount awarded by the Land Acquisition Officer, could be contested. The State Government’s policy resolution of 2016, as amended, stipulated that enhancements up to four times would not be challenged. The court found no basis to intervene in the reference court’s order and therefore dismissed the appeals. It also ordered that pending civil applications for delay condonation be allowed, while other applications were disposed of.

out of same acquisition proceedings.
