The court allowed the petition, granting a further extension of time for the arbitral proceedings.
Summary
The petitioner, Lords Inn Hotel And Developers Ltd., filed a Commercial Arbitration Petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking a further extension of time to complete the arbitral proceedings and to pass the award. This was the second request for extension, and the court was informed that substantial progress had been made and there was no opposition from the respondent, Constellation Properties. The court examined whether the statutory criteria for granting an extension under Section 29A were satisfied. Finding that the requirements were met, the court allowed the petition. Consequently, the time for the arbitral tribunal to complete the proceedings was extended from the date the order was uploaded.
