Bombay High Court

SUNIL BIRARAM BISHNOIversusSTATE OF MAHARASHTRA

Decided
Disposal
Partly Allowed

Holding

The court held that the bail condition could be modified as sought and that an additional cash bail of Rs.50,000 for four weeks may be imposed.

Summary

The applicant, Sunil Biraram Bishnoi, filed an interim application seeking modification of a bail condition imposed on 29 January 2026, which required a personal bond of Rs.50,000 with one or two local sureties. The court, after hearing counsel for both parties, agreed to modify the wording of the condition while retaining the same financial requirement. Additionally, the court imposed a new condition that the applicant must furnish cash bail of the same amount for a period of four weeks. The application was therefore partly allowed, and the modified bail conditions were ordered. The interim application was subsequently disposed of.
