The court allowed the amendment of the contempt petition to implead the trustees and directors, dispensing with revocation.

Summary

The applicant filed an interim application seeking to amend a contempt petition to specifically implead the trustees of Respondent No.1 and the directors of Respondent No.2, which were not named in the original petition. The court noted that the amendment was necessary in view of an order dated 30 June 2026. After considering the reasons provided, the judge allowed the amendment, directing that it be effected within two weeks and dispensing with any revocation. The order thus permits the petitioner to add the required parties to the contempt proceedings. No substantive merits of the contempt claim were addressed in this interim order.

Issues considered

  • Whether an interim application for amendment of a contempt petition to implead additional parties may be permitted.
