BALRAJ PRAKASH PANDEversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA AND OTHERS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The denotification of the land acquisition satisfies the petitioner’s prayer, leading to the disposal of the PIL.

Summary

The petitioner filed a public interest litigation challenging the land acquisition for the proposed Jalna Township Project at Kharpudi village. The petitioner submitted a copy of a notification dated 23-29 July 2020 showing that the land acquisition had been denotified. The court observed that this denotification satisfied the main prayer clause of the petition. Consequently, the court disposed of the PIL without further hearing. The judgment was delivered by Justices Vibha Kankanwadi and Hiten S. Venegavkar.
