Holding
The petition is dismissed as infructuous because the petitioner’s grievance has been redressed.
Summary
The petitioner, Ravindra Rajendra Gite, filed a writ petition before the Bombay High Court, Aurangabad Bench, seeking relief against the State of Maharashtra. The respondent State, through its Additional Government Pleader, submitted an affidavit stating that the petitioner’s grievance had been redressed, attaching a communication dated 09 January 2023 from the Education Officer (Secondary) to the school Head-Master confirming approval effective 1 January 2023. The petitioner’s counsel argued that the grievance was therefore resolved. The Court examined the affidavit and the attached communication and found that the relief sought was no longer required. Consequently, the Court held that the petition was infructuous and ordered it to be disposed of. The judgment was delivered by Justices Kishore C. Sant and Ajit B. Kadtankar on 17 June 2026.
