The Court directed the Commissioner of Education to decide the transfer proposal within eight weeks and the respondent handling the Shalarth ID inclusion to decide within eight weeks, thereby disposing of the petition.

Summary

Umesh Manikrao Bhagwat filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the Deputy Director of Education, Pune Region, to decide his transfer proposal from a partially aided to an aided post dated 17‑04‑2025. The State of Maharashtra, through its AGP, indicated that the proposal must now be forwarded to the Commissioner of Education, who is expected to act within a week as per new government orders of November 2025. The Court observed that the proposal had been pending due to internal governmental arrangements and ordered the Commissioner to decide the transfer proposal within eight weeks of receipt. The petition also sought inclusion of the petitioner’s name in the Shalarth ID, a proposal pending with another respondent, which the Court directed to be decided within eight weeks. With these directions, the Court disposed of the writ petition.
