The court held that the payment of Rs. 1,00,000 as compensation satisfied the petitioner’s claim, leading to the disposal of the petition.
Summary
The petitioner, Chandan Prabhakar Bhagat, filed a writ petition seeking compensation from the State of Maharashtra. The petitioner’s counsel submitted that, following a statement recorded on 30 April 2026, the Government had paid Rs. 1,00,000 as compensation, which was transferred to the petitioner’s Yes Bank account. Evidence of the transfer, including a signed communication from the police inspector and bank transfer photocopies, was placed on record.
