Disposal
Disposed Off

Holding

The petition is disposed off, allowing the State's extension and without addressing the merits of the challenge to clause (2).

Summary

The petitioners, Walchand College of Engineering and others, filed a writ petition challenging a Government Resolution dated 10 July 2026. The resolution required compliance with clauses (6) and (8) by 14 July 2026, and the State later extended the deadline to 15 July 2026. The petitioners indicated they would comply with the clauses but also reserved the right to contest clause (2) of the resolution. The learned Additional Government Pleader noted the State's extension, and the court observed the petitioners' reservation of rights. Considering the reservation, the court disposed of the petition without further adjudication on the merits.

Issues considered

  • Whether the petitioners must comply with clauses (6) and (8) of the Government Resolution by the stipulated date
