Holding
The Court directed the Grievance Redressal Committee to hear and decide the petitioners' complaints within four months of the order.
Summary
The petitioners filed writ petitions alleging that the Grievance Redressal Committee failed to hear complaints they lodged in 2024 and 2025. They sought a court directive compelling the Committee to consider their grievances promptly. The Court examined the limited nature of the grievance and found no substantive dispute beyond the delay. Accordingly, the Court ordered the Committee to hear and decide each petitioner's complaints as expeditiously as possible, preferably within four months of the order. The petitions were thereafter disposed.
Issues considered
- Whether the Grievance Redressal Committee is required to hear the complaints filed by the petitioners in 2024‑2025
- Whether the Court can direct a specific time‑frame for the Committee to dispose of the pending grievances
Subjects
- grievance redressal
- writ petition
