Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The Court directed the trial court to decide the suit within one year and disposed of the writ petition.

Summary

The petitioner, Sanjay Dattatray Sarode, filed a writ petition challenging an order dated 31 January 2020 passed by the Ad‑hoc District Judge, Sangamner, in Miscellaneous Civil Appeal No. 22 of 2019. The petitioner sought a direction that the trial court should decide the pending suit, R.C.S. No. 525 of 2019, within a stipulated period. The learned advocate for the petitioner argued that such a direction would serve the purpose of the petition. The Court, without delving into the merits of the underlying civil dispute, issued a directive to the trial court to render its decision within one year from the date of the order. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of. The judgment reflects the Court’s exercise of its supervisory jurisdiction to ensure timely disposal of pending civil matters.
